Alright, the @DesMoinesGov City Council meeting is underway. There have been no significant changes to the "racial profiling ordinance" the Council, city staff, and the @DMPolice have proposed. It still doesn't contain any of the elements demanded by the Community Alliance.
Here is the agenda. Once again, the "proposal" is near the end--Item 71-I. https://councildocs.dsm.city/agendas/ag20200622.pdf?pdf=Agenda&t=1592861173574

Ok, 71B is new. I haven't had a chance to read it yet. https://councildocs.dsm.city/Resolutions/20200622/71ib.pdf
. @cowniefordsm just read a proclamation calling on various world leaders to get rid of their nuclear weapons and not do a nuclear war? This is funny because @DMPolice regularly sends their goons to arrest people protesting the drone base on the south side.
. @cowniefordsm is gonna read a Pride proclamation. Erica Barz of @ACLUiowa is noting that the first Pride was a militant protest and community defense against police brutality, and praises queer activists for contributing to BLM protests. Quotes Bayard Rustin.
