It’s always heartbreaking hearing about someone who directly makes it dangerous for other passionate people to make a living in creative industries. Artists deserve fair wages, respect, and comfort and we should be intolerant of those who threaten others livelihood and safety.
I truly love art and even more the people I’ve met through it. I’m very lucky to have few tainted interactions but it’s still the worst to see how rampant racism, sexual assault, and exploitation are in these industries.
Usually I’m independent and keep to myself, esp as a freelancer, but I realize the community is an invaluable resource for professional and personal growth. I want to use my privilege and luck to possibly help boost others when I’m able.
This thread feels a bit preachy and good vibes-y but I do want to say help those vulnerable in your creative communities, and yeah blacklist/ condemn those that have done harm. We hate racists and predators here
