It's on. I'm testifying in court against my stalker this Wednesday. It's just a preliminary hearing, not the actual trial. But I think it will be good for me to tell what happened in a court of law.
I feel like the word "stalker" has lost so much impact of its actual definition, since people now use it to mean "looking at someone's insta too much." Like when I tell people I've had a stalker, I feel like I have to add all this other info so they know that's not what I mean.
FWIW: this was someone who terrorized me over the course of nearly two years, including threatening to rape, torture, and murder me. He told multiple people he planned to do this. He also came to my neighborhood and asked me to meet him near my home.
He posted my address and cell phone number online and told people to come rape me to teach me a lesson. He encouraged people to "call her nonstop so she learns what real harassment is."
I'm not the only victim named in these charges, though most of the charges do relate to me. He's being charged with 11 counts - 7 felonies and 4 misdemeanors. Including stalking in violation of a restraining order, and felony criminal threats.
I had to flee my home multiple times because I feared for my safety. This includes at least 1-2 times where I resisted because I was stubborn, but it truly wasn't safe for me to be here. Including once when the investigator told me, "You need to get out of your house. Right now."
