For Mint's thread this time, it's not focusing on Tharn's characteristics but rather about the impact of Tharn's role to Thai Y Series.
Let's start shall we? https://twitter.com/mint_manee/status/1272215486776967170
(1) On the subject of “Tharn Thara Kirigun” aka Protector / Attentive / Good Hearted / a Gay person. If I have to choose the most beloved Y-series main character, Khun Tharn will forever be number one in my heart. Because he is a mix/combination between the ideal male protagonist
and the representative of gay guy out of the stereotype (of male lead in Thai Y Novel’s series) aka “I’m not gay, I just happen to like men”

(2) Why is Tharn the perfect combination? And makes many people so “into” this character? Because publicly Tharn never denies his own
“gender identity”. When Type asked him “Are you really gay?”, Tharn responded back to Type with such seriousness in his eyes and without hesitation “I am”. Tharn’s expression is clear and without evading
(3) On the other hand, the flow of (his) role in bed from being a “receiver” to be the “giver” because he knows what he likes after having sex with P’San. It’s sth very “new” & charmingly since I never seen it in other Y series before where the male protagonist used to receive
and be a bottom.

(4) Not trying to romanticise until pushing the fact that “love has no gender” makes me very impressed with how they present the character Tharn. It can be seen from how his ex lovers are all “men” and Tharn respects/honors all his ex especially in the scene
reveal (some) truth about Tharn that Type has never known about before (Ep4). The series clearly represents Tharn’s backlog about how he came to be gay.

(5) Tharn being gay didn’t happen from his surroundings but it happened from “self-discovery. Tharn didn’t just try to have
something with men, he also used to sleep with women in which he told Type that “ I didn’t feel anything at all”. That made Tharn realize that “I am born like this”, until it leads him to come out to his parents in the end.
(6) Tharn’s coming out story is also something new, in a sense of BL series presenting the story of this character in “declarating where he stand (with his sexuality)” to his family. Therefore its a pity that the series wasn’t able to show this image because it would’ve impacted
the viewers a lot more. And I also think that if the actor got to act the scene, he might be able to make the audience dwell into the character Tharn more than this.

(7) Despite the existence of the character, Tharn is able to create a more ripple effect to the discourse
“I’m not gay I just like men”. This can be observed a lot from the diverse audiences, along with the audiences from foreign countries, who all say in unison that TharnType has created a higher standard for Thai Y Series because it doesn’t press on and deny being LGBT.

---END---
After reading this thread & understanding more about Tharn's role, I realized what an impact this series has in setting the standard for Thai BL Series.
Tharn's character is refreshing and charming, he is different from your usual male protagonist.
