Although he is remembered by most for his tenure with the Caped Crusader in “Batman Forever” and “Batman & Robin” (two movies that aren’t nearly as bad as people like to pretend they are), Joel Schumacher was more, much more. #JoelSchumacher
Making the leap from costume designer to the director’s chair he gave us 80s classics like “St. Elmo’s Fire” and “The Lost Boys”, he released a series of great horrors and thrillers like “Flatliners”, “The Client”, “8mm” and “Phone Booth”. #JoelSchumacher
And he adventured in other classic genres in films like “Cousins”, “A Time to Kill”, “Flawless”, “Tigerland” and “The Phantom of the Opera”. #JoelSchumacher
But Joel should really be remembered for his masterpiece, the controversial “Falling Down”, which competed both for the Palme d'Or and the Golden Bear. Today we lost a truly unique voice, a filmmaker with aesthetics like no other. Rest in peace, Mr. Schumacher. #JoelSchumacher
