This morn @davidharradine, @mmdelgado1 and Tony Fisher held a forum for our PhD cohort where we discussed concerns about higher education & creative sectors in light of COVID-19. We've pulled together this thread full of resources suggested by David and wanted to share. (1/12)
To start with we reflected on how the future of arts production is mapped in @ace_national's 'Let's Create' strategy, particularly noting its focus on communities as cultural hubs. Key reading to understand the landscape we're looking ahead to: https://www.artscouncil.org.uk/letscreate# (2/12)
A concise but key @ace_national page to read is their COVID-19 response (and blog post), which sets out its three phase plan: Response, Stabilisation, Reset. Read here: https://www.artscouncil.org.uk/covid-19/covid-19-response-reset (3/12)
Next up, @WhatNextCulture, the only free-to-access national movement that brings together freelancers and organisations to debate the shape and future of arts & culture in the UK. https://www.whatnextculture.co.uk/about/# (4/12)
A slightly longer read are these reports from @improbable1's @DandDUK open space meetings - 'Time for Respair' - conversations about theatre & the future (held online and hosted w/ @battersea_arts)

Full guidance on the Cultural Renewal Taskforce and Working Groups set up for the safe reopening of Digital, Culture, Media and Sport sectors https://www.gov.uk/government/groups/cultural-renewal-taskforce-and-supporting-working-groups (6/12)
We also had lots of discussion about @lse_london & @ace_national's rebranding of 'SHAPE' (social sciences, humanities & the arts for people & the economy) and our hopes for arts to be re-narrativised as a vital area of study on equal footing with STEM. (7/12)
A key area of our discussion (led by @davidharradine) paid attention to the potential for the recovery of our sectors to be inclusive, just and for the whole ecology. Central to this is declaring climate emergency - see https://www.culturedeclares.org to register @CultureDeclares (8/12)
More essential reading around the climate emergency and the role of the cultural community in committing to green recovery is this resource from @JuliesBicycle https://juliesbicycle.com/resource_hub/resources/a-just-green-cultural-recovery/ (9/12)
Another emergency response to COVID-19 has been from #WeShallNotBeRemoved, a UK disability arts alliance campaigning to magnify the inequalities for disabled people working in creative industries. More here: https://vocaleyes.co.uk/we-shall-not-be-removed/ (10/12)
Finally we wanted to draw attention to the #FreelancersMakeTheatreWork campaign - a collective voice to advocate for the UK's freelance theatre workforce. V easy to get involved & feed into the conversation - https://www.freelancersmaketheatrework.com (11/12)
That's all for now, but we are actively looking out for more resources to share with our research community and colleagues across sectors. Please do share other reading with us and we hope these links are helpful! (12/12)
