As much as I do think Min Min is a nice addition, it's really disappointing to see the Smash team pass up on a really good opportunity to include a black woman in the game, especially since the game has been so lacking on any people of color as a whole.
Like yes, Nintendo has an issue of not having many BIPOC characters, so it's, to a small extent, understandable when Smash is so lacking. But having them pass up characters like Claude or Twintelle in favor of white characters who are just as popular is really really sad.
If you're choosing to add a character to your white-dominated roster, and you claim every character from the game you're picking from is "the main character" and you don't choose to include the black woman and instead choose a white woman, you're kind of a piece of shit.
Also this isn't a jab at Sakurai or any specific person, since these things are likely handled by tons of ppl. Despite how simple it may be described by him.
