Here's our story of coming out as a system. For the non-systems following us, listen to our stories. You never know who in your life is a system. We're more common than you think.

Here's our story of coming out as a system. For the non-systems following us, listen to our stories. You never know who in your life is a system. We're more common than you think.
Now, let's begin the story...
For a long time, Void would wonder why he couldn't remember huge chunks of his life. His memory was poor and he would dissociate through entire class periods. His mother voiced her suspicions of him being bipolar, and for a while, this label seemed to fit. (1/?)
But then, Void began to notice Admin helping him through problems. They could communicate. Void just assumed it was his inner voice.
But one day while he was talking to a friend, halfway through 2019, Rory came to him and asked where he was. (2/?)

Void thought nothing of it until the host of our partner system came out as having DID. Void advidly began to focus on the topic and did as much research as he could. We're leaving out many details of the story because it's private info, but (3/?)
Void ended up helping one of his friends get a DID diagnosis. Then he began to look more closely at the things going on in his life and how they matched up with OSDD symptoms. He came to the conclusion that he was part of a system, but he had to hide it. (4/?)
This was a messy, confusing point in his life. Many things came to light about the abuse we had gone through and he wasn't sure how to handle it. We tried to come out to the mother once as a system when it was just Admin, Rory, and Void, but she dismissed it. (5/?)
We tried again when more and more headmates started revealing themselves, and she still dismissed it. Then, the situation with Tr*sha came up, and we realised first hand just how awful the stigma really is, because now we were part of the community. (6/?)
We've had to leave out many details of the story simply because it's too triggering for others to put in this thread, but this is the gist of it. We will never support the use of Split as an accurate representation of DID and it's why we haven't watched it. (7/?)
@netflix you should be ashamed of yourselves for continuing to air a movie that is so incredibly harmful to an already stigmatized disorder. Putting up warnings will not be enough. Take the movie Split down altogether, or we WILL keep pushing. (8/?)
We are not plot devices for the cruel entertainment of singlets. We are not murderers. We are far more likely to be hurt than to hurt others. DID should not be a deciding factor in whether or not you can EXIST in society. Split and other movies like it are disgusting. (9/?)
They are not good or accurate representations of what DID is like. Fuck Split. Fuck the stigma. Fuck the stereotypes. And fuck @netflix for continuing to air that awful movie. I'm angry. I'm upset. And I'm willing to do anything to get Split taken down. (10/?)
I know the community is hurting like all holy hell right now. But this is a cause we can all fight for, instead of fighting against each other for petty reasons. So let's get out there and fucking DO IT, guys! -Maria
