Just a word on Adam Blampied, cause it’s on my mind. If you’ve followed me, you’ll know that I’m not very kind to people who do scummy things that link back to sexual assault. Let alone abuse. It’s very rare that I even consider a second chance for the person.
The best course of action is to often de-platform the person if they have a platform to speak of, and then to either try to get them arrested if they did something illegal, or get them away from anyone they could potentially hurt if what they did doesn’t go against the law.
I bring this up because it’s important to state what Blampied actually did and if what he’s done in the past 3 years is enough to warrant him a place back online.
He’s where I stand on the matter. While what Adam did was scummy, it wasn’t bad enough to be called sexual assault.

Adam texted an *adult* woman asking her for nudes in a sleazy way which came off as Adam pressuring the woman in question to send him the nudes, and also meant that he was cheating on his then girlfriend. This was disgusting on Adam’s part.
I would go so far as to say that he was a sex pest. But there are two things to keep in mind. Both that tie into one another. First of all, what Adam has done in the past 3 years shows that he really is ashamed of himself for what he did. Not just sorry that he was caught.
He outed himself about the whole thing, refused a lot of defence that he was being given at the time saying that it was embarrassing how many people who were in support of him where dogpiling on the woman in question, and distanced himself from YouTube for 2 and a half years.
Now one could argue that giving Adam a platform again is going to lead to the same thing happening. And I’ll put my hands up and say that it’s a possibility. But this leads into the second thing, and that’s that with how bad what he did really was, I don’t think it will.
Because for as much as what Adam did was scummy, irresponsible and an abuse of power, he didn’t abuse anyone. He didn’t sexual assault anyone. I would hardly call Blampied a sexual predator. What he did made him a sex pest. Not a predator.
And I don’t want you to think that me saying that what he did not being as bad as abuse or assault doesn’t mean that what he did shouldn’t still be held against him. If I’m being honest, I can’t blame anyone who still can’t look at him the same way again.
What I am saying though is that while he isn’t completely out of the clear, and may never be, Adam has done enough to better himself from a shitty thing he didn’t which itself brushes the toe just under the line that he does deserve a second chance.
You’ll be hearing a different tone from me if Adam ends up repeating the same mistake even just one time. Me making this thread isn’t to say Adam is clear of wrongdoing. Just that he has better himself & that his crime isn’t severe enough that he needs to be permanently shunned.
