So, I came to know today that many people don’t know the difference between panic and anxiety attacks. And, I’m just gonna try to clear it up as well as I can on the following thread.🤞
The reasons people think they are the same are the following symptoms:-
1. Fear
2. Heart palpitations
3. Chest pain
4. Shortness of breath
5. Tightness in throat (like you’re choking)
6. Dry mouth
7. Sweating
8. Trembling
9. Nausea
10. Numbness
11. Dizziness
Anxiety attacks would also cause apprehension and worry, distress, restlessness, being started easily, irritability. Anxiety disorders also include OCD and trauma.
Panic attacks would include fear of dying and losing control over oneself, depersonalisation and a sense of detachment from the world.
Anxiety is typically related to something usually stressful or threatening. Panic attacks are not always caused by stressors. They have been categorised as expected or unexpected, that is they appear out of the blue.
Anxiety ranges from mild to moderate to severe. Sometimes, it builds up in the back of your mind in your day to day life. Whereas, panic attacks on the other hand, involve severe disruptive symptoms.
During panic attacks, you have a rush of the fight or flight a.k.a. adrenaline hormone and symptoms appear to be more intense than that of anxiety.
Anxiety builds gradually while, panic attacks are sudden.

Panic attacks typically trigger worries or fears related to having another attack leading you to depersonalisation.
