I was debating posting this on my public twitter account, but I am not sure I am ready to take that step. However, I need to get my thoughts out, so here’s a thread:
TW: sexual assault

Over the past couple of days, many have come forward and bravely revealed that prominent celebrities sexually assaulted them. While we must believe ALL survivors, it has been disclosed that one twitter user faked the stories regarding members of the riverdale cast.

The only reason I discredit said stories are because the original user explicitly tweeted that the stories were made up. That being said, we must continue to believe survivors such as the individuals who came forward about Chris D’elia & Ansel Elgort, as their stories are real.

However, back to the false accusations, that needs to STOP. It is an insult to survivors. As a survivor of sexual assault, it is hard for me to stomach the fact that people easily make up stories of sexual assault. Not only does it discredit survivors, but it also triggering!

By making up fake stories you are harming survivors. It is absolutely despicable, unacceptable, and ignorant. I doubt many people will even see this thread but I couldn’t stand not saying anything about it.
