Just tried to watch some WWDC 2020 from Apple...

But ouch, that was almost painful.

Where is choice? Where is the innovation?
No, lets introduce "picture in picture" and different sized widgets in iOS 14. Wow...
Lets round all corners of the macOS dock, and call it "floating" and "elegant".
And lets say we update everything more than EVER, and still keep it generally exactly the same...
And who doesn't need "message effects"
Hmm, managed to miss news on Apple Maps...
But I'd only try and find something wrong with it, so who cares.
Why are everyone using $5'000+ MacPro to demonstrate features in macOS?
Oh, now something "truly profound" and "truly extraordinary"... stay tuned.
Lets put a mobile processor into a PC...
Well, not all bad I guess, but it will further limit choice...
All third party software will likely need to be created in x-code to use native functions for new architecture.
Ops, Apple is mentioning Linux running in VM on desktop.
But I guess #QGIS will need to run through Rosetta2 on newer Macs.
Hey, buy a new intel based mac now...
But in two years the transition to arm based architecture will be completed, so... I should wait?

(Not buying a mac in a million years)
Just to be clear, if someone reads this thread.
I'm not an Apple fan!
Most tweets are ironic.
But you need to consider what Apple does, because it will influence tech in general.

With this presentation I also foresee some hurdles for open source software on mac in the future.
