If you know me, you would know that one of reasons I ended up doing law has to do with an alleged rape incident in 2012.

A young man was almost murdered by members of my community related to the ‘victim’. Jungle justice.

I intervened & got him help & he got away that night

He was subsequently arrested & was charged.

Today in Court the complainant decided to ‘finish’ the matter. With no further evidence offered, he’s been discharged.

8 years of his life gone.

He’s called me his guardian angel since that night in 2012.

Today was the 1st time I was in Ct when his matter was being heard.

I went outside to see him after he was discharged and he said to me, “thank you. everything started & has ended with you.

Primarily because of that incident, I want the law to address circumstances where false accusations are made.

He could’ve died. They were going to kill him. There was a rope around his neck when his friends & I got back to where they were beating him.

My entire community had it out for me because I “help raper-bwoi get weh”

My life was threatened.

They said they would ‘bottle torch’ our house that night.

They said my mother might just find my decomposed body in a ditch.

Whatever spirit urged me to get him help that night deserve the praise.
