This came about because of the Ashley Tellis podcast at @CarnegieIndia where he said that the Chinese went back from Depsang in 2013 because India had gone into Chumar, and the two sides then easily negotiated to agree to status quo ante.
The only decent reference to the Chumar move by India as a QPQ for Depsang in 2013, that I could find is by @sudhiranjansen https://www.ndtv.com/india-news/india-china-pullback-what-happened-behind-the-scenes-521330
