The Catholic Church isn’t immune to the racial reckoning sweeping this country because, like most institutions in this country, the Catholic Church contributes to the conservation of white supremacy.
According to Fr. Aidan McAleenan, Bishop Michael Barber of the Oakland Diocese told him that Black people should be happy with the way the church and the country has treated them. Watch McAleenan’s emotional video:
The Catholic Church needs to understand that it’s impossible to be pro-life and not stand against racism.
