A large group that I moderate has a "far right = banned on sight" policy, and it keeps things remarkably drama-free. Oh, we've been called every name in the book ("echo chamber," "hate free speech," etc. - you all know the song) by people who don't really matter, but it works. https://twitter.com/Poingah/status/1275000811853090817
Admin complacency - not wanting to make waves or give their group a "bad image" - is the number one reason why Telegram groups turn into cesspools. Ban that shit on sight. In the furry fandom, that's going to *improve* your group's image, not hinder it.
Oh, and admin complacency? That includes the "well, it didn't happen in *our* chat" bullshit. You don't get to make an absolute ass of yourself in one group and then put on a nice face in ours.
Spotted in an alt-furry group? Banned. "Thin blue line" bootlicker flag in your icon? Banned. Racist rant on Twitter? Banned. If every Telegram group were on board with that, those shitbirds would be gone from the fandom.
"But they would just go into their own spaces!" you say.

Cool, let them. Because here's the thing: every time a bunch of right-wingers form their own group with blackjack and hookers, it *inevitably* falls apart due to infighting, usually in hilarious ways.
Deny them every outlet except each other, and you win. They don't "band together" - they want to PLAY victims, not actually BE victims. When they're stuck with people who are as terrible as they are and no one to react to their hate, they will inevitably start hating each other.
Also, literally every piece of advice in this thread - every single one, without exception - applies to furry conventions as well.
Purging the far right from the fandom is a net positive, but the reason they're allowed to continue - in spite of the Twitter callouts, in spite of being on block lists - is because they still have outlets.
Con leadership and admins of big Telegram/Discord groups could end the problem, but most of them are either
A - in with the far right themselves, or
B (more frequently) - too chickenshit to deal with the short-term fallout of banning people, even though it's a long-term positive.
