Just out of curiosity, where did the “forced to look at videos of human mutilation” line come from? Cause it’s not in the same article a lot of this other stuff is from so just wondering what the source is on that.
For the record, I concepted quite a bit of brutality against humans. I looked at ref. And at every assignment my leads checked with me. Are you sure you’re okay to look at this? Do you want us to put someone else on this? Let us know if this gets too heavy. Every single time.
There are real discussions to be had about the effect of looking at violent imagery while working on projects like this. Just be careful with tweets making broad dramatic claims about it to get likes because it’s the hot thing right now.
And I of course cannot and will not speak for everyone on this project, if someone WAS actively forced to look at that content, that’s extremely not okay. But the people saying it are external to the company and some folks are saying it’s from an article about a different game.
Love 2 b admonished for saying something in a viral tweet about a company I actively work for is alarming and potentially false.
Before any of you even think to try it, because you’ve tried it in the past when I’ve voiced concerns with how some of you have responded to this shit, I am extremely against crunch and feel the entire industry needs a good overhaul in how it’s handled. 🤷‍♀️
I think I’m gonna take a break today from the number one thing affecting my mental state as a developer during this whole thing: twitter.
Continue to twist what I’ve said, misinterpret it and take shots at me all in defense of... hmm... it says here, people who work at ND. Huh.
