Now that change is on trend...

How we gonna de-gentrify dance music?!

People saying that its roots lie in POC/Queer culture for longer than there’ve been platforms to say it on.
Yet every year, festivals act all https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="😃" title="Lächelndes Gesicht mit geöffnetem Mund" aria-label="Emoji: Lächelndes Gesicht mit geöffnetem Mund"> and then will have two “slightly less white” acts on the bill.
The lineups are mostly the same rotating cast of characters, repacked and resold in their personal logo font.
Old masked dude/New masked dude
Pix of photogenic white men looking slightly to the side
A woman
Rah rah dude with like, some hair?
Maybe nail polish https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="🤷🏻‍♂️" title="Achselzuckender Mann (heller Hautton)" aria-label="Emoji: Achselzuckender Mann (heller Hautton)">?
“We so crazy!”https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="🙃" title="Auf den Kopf gestelltes Gesicht" aria-label="Emoji: Auf den Kopf gestelltes Gesicht">
If the focus is on trends and image, less on the music or skills, why not take some chances and add more people from these Queer/POC’s cultures (which birthed this music) to the lineup?
Change is trending, catch up.
