Recently 7 LGBT+ groups from the UK's major political parties released a joint statement asking Liz Truss to support trans rights.

I'm response ForWomenScot issued a "cross party" joint letter, opposing trans rights.

But who are the signatories & who do they represent?

THREAD
They claim to represent "cross party" support, but none of the groups listed are affiliated to UK political parties.

They are random Twitter accounts, liking to petitions.

But who are they? What connects them? Do they represent political parties and members?

Let's find out. 👇
First off let's look at their link to ForWomenScot.

Conservative Woman's Pledge
Labour Women's Declaration
Liberal Democrat Declaration
SNP Women's Pledge
WEP Women

All show very large follower overlap with ForWomenScot, a prominent anti-trans Scottish campaign group.
Let's look at Conservative Women's Pledge.

Analysis of their followers shows that they do not follow the official Conservative Women & Conservative Young Women accounts.

They do almost all follow known anti-trans campaign groups Transgender Trend and Woman's Place.
Let's look at Labour Women's Declaration.

Followers of that account do not tend to follow Labour Women's Network or Young Labour Women.

They do largely follow anti-trans accounts Transgender Trend and Woman's Place.
The account claiming to represent Liberal Democrats is small.

Their followers shows no interest in following the official Liberal Democrat Women account.

They do however almost all follow anti-trans accounts Transgender Trend and Woman's Place.
Let's look at the Greens.

There is no account for the Green Declaration.

Let's use Women Uniting as a comparator.

Green Party Women and Scottish Green Party Women's accounts do not tend to follow this supposed cross party group.

lots of overlap with Transgender Trend & WPUK
Let's look at the unaffiliated SNP group.

SNP have no women's group on Twitter, Rhiannon Speare is the SNP Women's Convenor.

Followers of SNP Women's Pledge are not likely to follow the SNP Women's Convenor.

They are far more likely to follow anti-trans TransgenderTrd & WPUK.
Looking at the Woman's Equality Party Declaration account, again unaffiliated.

There is a slight overlap of followers with the main WEP account.

But they are far more likely to follow anti-trans accounts Transgender Trend and WPUK, than the party they say they support.
So, what can we conclude?

This "cross party" support seems to come from accounts unaffiliated to any of the parties claimed.

These accounts show no interest in the official women's groups and officers of those parties, and seem interested in one subject only: Trans exclusion.
It's worth noting, this tactic has been tried before.

Earlier this year fake accounts purporting to represent "LGB" groups within all the major political parties appeared, all using the same/similar email address, all linking to LGB Alliance.

These accounts were all suspended.
There is a concerted effort by the Gender Critical movement to present itself as broad spectrum.

It follows the same pattern; create groups that say they support one thing; women's rights, LGB rights, children's rights, and use those platforms to actively oppose trans rights.
If you're curious about who forwomenscot are, I ran some analysis on their account a few months back.

TLDR: they are a single issue anti-trans account, that don't tend to be interested in the rights of women and children. https://twitter.com/DavidPaisley/status/1237754686830190592
