Another Steam Games Festival demo: #TheInvisibleHand from @PowerStruggleG. I didn't know anything about the game before trying it out except that @willoneill was on the team.

And it opens with this madness; you're a trader at a company going through a Lehmans Brothers moment.
I tried clicking things - and I was certainly doing something - but I was absolutely frightened out of my wits. The panic in #TheInvisibleHand opening is sublime.

Anyyyway, everything blows up, you're out of a job... and then you get recruited by a new company.
So #TheInvisibleHand is a satire about casino capitalism in the financial industry.

You're now presented with an ethics questionnaire. But it's clear that the mgmt think it's a joke. And here's where things got a bit weird for me personally.
See, I have to actually do these in my job :)

The joke in #TheInvisibleHand is that they're easy to pass. If you read, the answer is obvious - and it's even pre-ticked the correct answer!

The ethics questionnaires I did about a decade ago were a bit like this.
IRL the questions felt like "Is it okay to use inside info? Y/N?" But you can't just breeze through the annual ethics refreshers these days - several options look "obvious". e.g. It'll chide you for reporting something you don't need to report.

Back to the game #TheInvisibleHand
After this sequence it's the first day at your new job. First thing I noticed in #TheInvisibleHand is the Cart Life style constant ticking of the clock.
I couldn't tell you what happens if I wasn't at the lobby dead on 10:00. I badly wanted to explore the office of #TheInvisibleHand, but the minutes were counting forwards at a rapid pace.
This is your boss in #TheInvisibleHand and, sorry to be blunt, he is a prick.
"We'll looking for the right person to fill this role. One of you is the wrong person."

Thanks boss. So, it's a competition between you and this guy in the snappy purple jacket.

#TheInvisibleHand
Then I began trading and I was so panicked again about WTF was going on, I forgot to screenshot anything.

Long story short: you get illegal insider tips and can trade on them. But don't be *obvious* about it.

And thus, on day one, I made a killing in #TheInvisibleHand.
Everybody except you followed the herd - they traded the wrong way on coffee. Management then fired one of the herd to make an example. And that was it. #TheInvisibleHand demo finished.
Looks like the full game will be focused on trading and trying not to be *too* illegal to avoid being noticed. There's also another part of the game where you work on upgrading your lifestyle.

#TheInvisibleHand has my attention; wishlisted.
And maybe this is an excellent time to tweet "Opinions are my own and not the views of my employer"
