@TheBookerPrizes I am a proud supporter of the Booker Prizes and was delighted to host your showcase @southbankcentre in 2018. I wonder if you feel the behaviour of @Baroness_Nichol is in keeping with your code of conduct for trustees?
Every trustee is entitled to their own views and a board must contain a diversity of views. The Baroness appears to have moved from robust debate to ad hominem attacks. Quite aside from RTing homophobic bile in line with her long-standing oppostion to equal marriage
she is now claiming her long-standing opposition to equal marriage was/is a sort of feminism - a view publicly decried by parliamentary colleagues past & present. She continues to attack @stonewalluk while seeking to cloak her historic homophobia in contemporary concerns
As a gay writer I feel very concerned that a person who is actively and publicly propagating homophobic views holds a position of such power & prestige in your rightly esteemed organisation. The Baroness is not a person on a journey - her views appear to have calcified.
Her ongoing attack on the LGBT community while claiming to try to protect butch lesbians & femme gay men from some imaginary trans threat is transparent & hypocritical. Can you confirm her harmful views & actions are not those of @TheBookerPrizes Are you happy to support her?
An addendum to this thread. Although the Booker Prizes list Baroness Nicholson as a Vice-President on their website, the Baroness has informed me she is no longer a Vice President of the @TheBookerPrizes https://thebookerprizes.com/faqs
