1. Acetaminophen
Acetaminophen in Nigeria is commonly known as paracetamol, Panadol etc. It is a pain reliever, fever reducer and can reduce conditions like backache, toothache, muscle aches and menstrual pain in women.
2. Cough syrups and flu relief medicine
Cough and flu relief medications are really important to have at home as it's really easy to get flu and flu is energy draining which makes it hard to go out and get drugs.There are several types of these medications for children and adults
3. Antihistamines
Antihistamines help in treating itch, allergic reactions and they also help in drying up watery nose. They're really helpful during a serious allergic reaction. Common ones include loratadine, Benadryl.
4. Aspirin
Aspirin works as a pain reliever for adults. They're very important to have on hand in case of emergencies such as heart attack. Aspirin is not suitable for those under the age of 16. A common example of aspirin is Vasoprin.

This is very important in treating diarrhoea, dysentery, indigestion and other stomach disorder. A common one is flagyl.

Used for treating fungal infections such as ringworm, athlete's foot, fungal diaper rashes and for women that constantly get vaginal yeast infections. It's important to have at home. Common examples include ketoconazole, clotrimazole, fluconazole cream
7. Antacids
Antacids are substances that neutralize stomach acidity and they are the best and quickest relief for heartburns, indigestion or an upset stomach. Common antacids include Andrew liver salt, biomag suspension, gaviscon suspension and others.
8. Hydrocortisone cream
Hydrocortisone cream is a steroid that can be used to treat a variety of skin conditions such as eczema, rashes, dermatitis. Common examples include nixoderm, skineal, visita plus.
