Learning is a lifelong journey. In my short adult life I have changed positions on various issues and subjects, sometimes back and forth. Because I'm constantly pressure testing my thoughts and views.
When I was younger, I might have held homophobic and sexist views. Now I will confidently debate the people who still hold those views.

I used to be religious, now I am what you might call a militant atheist.
I voted for the conservative party in our last Australian election, I doubt I will vote for them in 2 years time. But then again I have 2 more years to decide.
I used to think that we have the US to thank for everything we (Malaysia and the west) enjoy today. Now I am fully convinced that the current white-supremacist US/Western hegemony on the world is detrimental to humanity and is actually dragging everyone else down with them.
China is not w/o her imperfections, and like most people outside of China today, I used to be very anti-China. Again I am now fully convinced that China is a much better force for the world, vs the criminal US empire and her vassal states in the so-called '5 eyes' alliance.
Indeed I am a beneficiary of capitalism and I used to be pro-capitalism, but I have learned a lot more about socialism than what was taught in high-school and I really think the world could use a lot more socialism.
I used to 'hate' communism, coz in history class we were taught to hate it. My grandfather was a decorated soldier with the British Air Force and fought against the communist during the Malayan Emergency. But I never really understood what communism really means. Do you?
I was once very pro-democracy. I used to have simplistic views like 'oh the poor Chinese don't get to vote'. But when I look at how dysfunctional our democracies have become, and weigh it up against how well the Chinese political model has worked for the average..
...1.3B people in China today, how can you not be curious to explore how they've rejuvenated themselves so successfully, if they are indeed ruled by a 'big bad authoritative communist regime'?
As we grow and explore the world, our views must be constantly evolving. It is those who have stopped learning and still think the same way they did when they left college that I don't trust.

Pressure test your views and question everything. ✌️
