#GetSplitOffNetflix

When I was diagnosed, I carried the anxiety and shame most of us do. I told my ex and he said "Oh, like Split?"
I didn't know how to respond.
"Yeah, that disorder but it's not really... like that. It's not dangerous, it's not like the movie it's really not"
Trying to convince people that you're not a "beast" because of this stupid fucking movie is painful.
I told my best friend, though. But he too only knew what he'd seen in the movies. The dramatic and spooky "crazy people" who were probably just psychotic. He told me, "I don't believe in DID. It always looked like misdiagnosed schizophrenia to me."
I stopped telling people after that, for years.
#GetSplitOffNetflix because I'm sick of this god damn movie portraying us as monsters- literally describes this guy as having a supernatural experience. Parallels him to a fucking child predator.
Give us a movie about DID with real information and a compelling narrative. Likable characters and attention to detail. Not some poorly directed thriller, but something competent overseen by professionals & people with DID. Fucking humanize us just once.
Also it sucked like really really sucked, it was predictable as shit and most of the acting was hilariously bad. The only fun I got out of it was roasting a couple alters like, "That's you, the stupid one that's trying to be quirky and chill" "No that's you, that weirdo there."
Like god damn, aside from being in poor taste, it wasn't even good as a thriller on its own if you ignore the offensiveness.
