Good day guys. I have one person in the family who has been tested positive. So I’ll share what I’ve been through as a caretaker, the process of how the testing went and current state.
On 11th June it started with mild sore throat, body pain. 13th-15 June temperature was mild, only 16 June fever shot up. 102 degrees high fever. This lasted for 4-5 days.
The only time the temperature reduced was after having dolo 650, but it would shoot up after 4 hours. Finally got him tested on 18th. Now here’s where the situation, the real worry began.
Chettinadu Hospital took the sample, promised us we would receive the test in 24 hours. Called him after that, and the person in charge said the testing machine is ‘broken’ and we ll get the results only after one more day. I made 15 calls atleast to get this one word.
Meanwhile the govt health dept told us they ll test the patient only after 3 days and only if the symptoms persisted.
Finally after the positive result, we continued to take advise from excellent doctors in the family, plus got in touch with one more amazing doctor. He was all well at home. Then new twist
The health inspector at Kelambakam asked the person to admit himself at the hospital, but since was getting better our doctor told us to continue home quarantine. This health inspected then theatred us to get admitted.
He infomed the apartment association. Together they said they will call the cops if we don’t get admitted. So now I paid 50k admission fees and 30k per day room charges to admit him in Chettinadu Hospital.
Now the hospital for this price should be clean and well-maintained. Correct? It’s not. No doctor has attended to him. Room has used cotton swabs, overall not clean.
New update: Kelambakam health official is asking one member of the house to quarantine himself in Tagore college.
On asking why, he said this is the rule. All these guys are doing is threaten us!!! We are tired. Allow us to stay on home quarantine. Pls discharge the patient from the hospital. Doctors say he’s fine!
