This got long so I'm just gonna separate it, I'm so sorry @Smukitten 😭 My brain just decided to spark up an idea for Catsuki

What if that happened before a little fight between Izuku and Catsuki? Like, while waiting for Izuku to come home, Katsuki was watching the TV as usual. https://twitter.com/Smukitten/status/1274956762056097793
He'd already prepared dinner so all that was left to do was to wait. He always watched the news because since Deku was one of the top 3 heroes, he was almost always up. But something went different that night, because Izuku was running later than usual.
Turns out Izuku was on live TV again. He was having an interview after a big villain fight that Izuku was too kind to refuse, and at first, Katsuki was watching happily, his fluffy tail thumping on the floor and ears twitching in delight as he stared at his lover on the screen.
But then a girl suddenly came beside him after another reporter nudged her inside. Katsuki recalled her as Uravity, one of Izuku's friends that he had yet to meet due to their busy hero schedules. (He had already met Half 'n Half, that eyeglasses guy, and Shitty Hair.)
As he watched on more, Katsuki just suddenly grew restless, his tail was completely frozen and his ears were downturned too. He knew that Izuku was too much of a good person to be unloyal, but Katsuki couldn't help but see just how close he was to her.
Katsuki /knew/ they were just friends, but the way Izuku just placed a hand on her shoulder with a big smile like it belonged there...
Katsuki couldn't help it. There was nothing to be worried about, but he just /couldn't/ help it. He was always left at home, only being able to interact with Izuku for those few precious hours before they sleep during weekdays
and even during weekends, Izuku was almost always too tired to play with him!
Before meeting Izuku, Katsuki was kicked out of his previous home because his owner had said that he was too much of a pain to take care of ("too fussy, too needy!"). Izuku had always reassured him that Katsuki was nothing like that.
"You're just a cute little kitty who deserves all the love, and your owner was just too blind to see that!" Izuku had always said, but now... What if Izuku was slowly opening his eyes to the truth? What if he was regretting that he picked up Katsuki?
Katsuki turned off the TV after that thought, and just like that, the walls in his heart were suddenly up again.
He forced himself to turn his restless thoughts into anger. So what if Izuku didn't want him anymore? To hell with him, right? It was his loss! Still, Katsuki couldn't really turn off the insecurity, and the impending hurt he was gonna feel if Izuku does decide to kick him out.
So Katsuki's plan to lessen the hurt? Distance himself. That same night when Izuku finally came home, apologizing to Katsuki for being out so late, Katsuki had already ate his dinner and didn't give Izuku his usual greeting nip and kiss either.
Izuku decided to give Katsuki some space since he thought that maybe the blond was mad at him for being out so late and he did kinda deserve the anger, but to Katsuki, he misunderstood it as Izuku being tired of him.
It didn't help either that Katsuki could smell feminine perfume on Izuku, and he wondered if it was from that girl. Wondered if they hung out after the interview. Wondered if while being with that girl, Izuku never thought of him.
That night, Katsuki abandoned his nest and lounged in on the couch. Izuku didn't call him out on it, and that just confirmed his suspicions more.
That night, Katsuki didn't really get that much sleep, and by the time the sun rose up, he just grew angrier, and a tad bit more hurt because it seemed like all the things he feared- the nightmares he had of Izuku leaving him- were becoming real.
This went on for a couple of days. Katsuki still cooked meals for Izuku, still watched him on the TV and still kept on seeing him with the girl more since apparently they were working on a case together (Izuku had told him over breakfast, and he really tried not to listen).
But the difference during these days was, Katsuki completely abandoned his nest, even though it hurt. His senses kept on whining for him to go back but his stubbornness always won. He stopped giving Izuku kisses and nips too, only talking to him if necessary.
The fur of his tail and ears were frazzled and messier than usual, a product from the stress of not having a nest and admittedly all-night worries over what he would become once Izuku would kick him out.
It all came to a head by the end of the week though, another night where Izuku was going home late /again/.
By this time, Katsuki was already 98% sure that Izuku had abandoned him. Sure, Izuku had asked about him and tried to pry answers from why he was acting like that the past few days, but he didn't really push and Katsuki had thought that maybe Izuku didn't think it was worth it.
That night, when he saw Izuku on live TV again, rejoicing with other heroes after they cracked a case (the media had caught them mid-celebration) and seeing Deku and Uravity together, Katsuki completely broke.
He ran all the way to their room, and the waterworks broke when he saw his untouched nest. When he curled up in it, it was cold but he didn't care.
If Izuku was gonna kick Katsuki out soon, then like hell, he'd miss the chance of being in his nest one last time, surrounded by the fading scent of his soon-to-be-ex-lover. He didn't know how long he had been crying and whining into the nest,
but it had probably been hours because he didn't hear the door opening either.
He was too wrapped up in the pain and being miserable, until he felt warm arms encasing around his figure. When Katsuki looked up, he was faced with the worried expression of Izuku, asking him gently what was wrong, and that was when he dropped all pretenses.
Katsuki jumped and wrapped his arms around Izuku, crying harder and barely being able to string coherent sentences together to beg for Izuku to not kick him out and
he'll do anything, anything he swore- just please, please don't leave him!! Or don't break up with him, because he promised he'll be better, he won't ask for too much anymore!!
Izuku cradled Katsuki to his chest, letting him heave out painful sobs, and asked, still so concerned and worried, why he would ever think that Izuku would leave him. And that was all it took.
Katsuki wailed out everything he had felt the past few days, ranting it all out in one wet cry, and after he was done with it, his loud weeping had turned into sniffling.
He felt a little better because it was finally out of his chest, but there was still a large part that worried and fretted over how Izuku would react. But when he finally sneaked a look, Katsuki was taken aback because Izuku was /crying/.
Tears were also running down his face, regret visibile in his eyes. He hadn't noticed it before, but Izuku's frame was also shaking, even though he was holding Katsuki tighter to his chest, almost like he was afraid to let go.
Before he could stop it, a confused and sad croon left Katsuki's throat, his tail rubbing Izuku's arms to comfort him. He didn't expect for Izuku to react like that! He thought after his rant, Izuku would throw him out! He didn't mean to hurt him!
Katsuki wanted to apologize, but Izuku beat him to it.
Izuku choked out that he was so, so sorry that he made Katsuki feel that way.
Katsuki wanted to intervene that it was his fault to begin with, but Izuku continued on to reassure that Uraraka (Katsuki finally knew her name) was really just a friend, and Izuku would be the biggest idiot in the world if he even thought of replacing Katsuki with her.
Izuku's sadness then morphed into anger, and said that all the things that his previous owner accused of Katsuki was not true at all and Katsuki should not believe such nonsense lies. That Katsuki was fine the way he is, and Izuku would always, /always/ love him no matter what.
Overwhelmed with another round of emotions, Katsuki could only cry again, but this time it was out of love and relief that Izuku wasn't actually gonna abandon him, that Izuku still loved him.
Izuku panicked when he sobbed again, but he was pressing kisses and nips all over Izuku's face, and rubbing his cheek against him affectionately, trying to make up for all the contact he deprived himself off when he distanced himself.
And Izuku responded with his own loving words, reciprocating each kiss and scratching behind Katsuki's ears. For the first time in a while, Katsuki finally felt Izuku's love again, and he wanted to hit himself for missing it, considering it had always been there, but not now.
Now, he just wanted focus on Izuku's embrace. That night, they reconciled, still teary-eyed but feeling much, much better.
And during the morning, Katsuki will find out that Izuku went on vacation off his job (the agency told him to rest for a while), and Katsuki is ecstatic because he and his lover can finally be and do things together again!
Just Katsuki and Izuku, in their humble but cozy apartment, wrapped up in each other's love, as the world still continues spinning.
