i am so tired of people using the ignorance and overall conservative stance of SK as a country as a way to sell this story that somehow LGBT+ people don’t exist there! that they can’t exist there! they very much do. and people know they do. they deserve better rights still, but+
that’s the reality for many LGBT+ people all around the world. i don’t think some of you truly realise the scale of the issue. whenever i see people trying to turn someone calling an idol gay on twt into a hazardous situation for their career or even life i can’t help but think+
that you’re just as ignorant as the very homophobes who you try so hard to shield your idols from. don’t look for an issue that isn’t there. the normalisation of being called gay =/= actually speculating and leading to rumours that will affect the idol.
with the amount of ACTUAL P*RN that people have been making of idols you’d think there would be some rumours of them dating already huh? theres videos ANALYSING the relationships between them with PROOFS and they’re watched by millions.
being called gay, even if the person in question is not, leads to normalisation of using the term as opposed to seeing it as an insult! which it isn’t! but it’s used as that now, gay people are being seen as LESS. you can literally get beaten up if you call someone gay.
so yeah! i know many of you aren’t keeping the same energy when it comes to your ships, posting all about them and even tagging the idols in it. next time u get mad about twt searches just please rethink wtf you’re even trying to make it out to be and why it bothers you this much
