I have no idea where I stand on the “the fireworks are a COINTELPRO op” theory.

My first instinct is that it sounds ridiculous, but so does every other COINTELPRO op?

The 4th round of fireworks tonight just went off on SF’s westside. Fireworks went off until 3 AM last night.

I think it’s probably most likely that people are being extra exuberant with Fourth of July fireworks sales since we’re all bored during the quarantine.

And if you see one of your neighbors setting them off maybe it’s more likely to inspire you to go buy your own?

Alternate explanation: since big fireworks shows are cancelled due to COVID, one block market fireworks retailer says fireworks dealers are off loading big, expensive fireworks for dirt cheap.
