this may be the worst moment in history to post good personal news but ... i bought a house in Big Bear (sight unseen)

my first home!
i literally made an offer without ever having seen it in person. everyone who hears that says i’m nuts ... no just confident and *extremely* used to risk (risk is the default setting of writing: you’re jumping off a cliff every time you sit down to write, trusting you’ll land)
i’ve always been sort of an early adopter / futurist & i honestly believe we’re about to see a wave of first time homebuyers buying outside the major cities. between the housing crisis and the virus and the chance of getting shot by the police (if you’re of color)...obvious move
if anyone sees this & thinks “why not me?” (a feeling i experience often & feel so uncomfortable with) i found out that there are a ton of programs out there to help you buy your first home (i found out too late but it might have helped) here’s resources https://homeloanartist.com/loan-programs/
there are actually programs out there that will give you a down payment grant (that doesn’t have to be repaid)! i wish i had known!
y’all ... my new neighbor across the street saw this tweet and DM’ed me. he was like “WE’RE IN THE HOUSE RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET FROM YOU” lmao
Someone up here said to me “oh we’ve got a lot of Hollywood people ... I mean, not A-list but ...”

me: “don’t worry i’m not A-list either.”
