those who knows chinese (or japanese), haechanbar posted a tl of a 19 min clip analyzing haechan’s moves in punch. apparently this japanese dance school owner received a lot of requests for him 😭

arata liked how haechan’s hair would float up whenever he moved. he said his hair length (😔) and flowing feeling is really nice, and wants to know what products he uses.
arata notes while the general image here is of a downward move forward, there’s also an upward point (face fixed, shoulders up), down then up. this up point is essential. he praises hc for having a fine grasp and the only one to show this rather difficult point brilliantly
arata tried dancing this part and found it difficult, this feeling that’s like the pulsation of sound. haechan’s expression of it is exquisite, and he is very skillful to be to achieve a high level of difficulty with respect to such a subtle point
arata notes hc’s shoulders here. it’s right feet then left, foot tap followed by leg bend. the shoulder also lifts concurrently -not entirely straight up/on beat but has a shake to it - this adds an accent to the changes within the choreo by slightly extending the musical beat.
haechan is really excellent at utilizing his body to express this kind of effect. he is able to comfortably link upper and lower body movements... “amazing. his movement breakdown/isolation is amazing. outstanding! really very masterful!”
arata notes haechan makes a turn of about 375 degrees, the largest turn of the members. he also notes how haechan puts effects into his steps. the music here has a game-like synth sound and so he expresses a mechanical texture to his steps.
he doesn’t simply follow the rhythm with his leg, but uses his body center to express the rhythm/power his leg, resulting in the shoulder+waist moving along a diagonal line. hc really excels in the use of his center, using it to move agilely. his abdomen is possibly really strong
the way his head moves as the left foot goes forward, feels full of energy. this is a kind pre-dance/transition movement, like when he did the 375 degree turn. arata notes when it comes to large range movements, haechan’s range is really wide. all this creates watching value.
arata thinks this part is really impressive. it’s not just the overall speed, but his strength when the leg moves forward a step. his left hand and right leg create a line, and the degree of his backwards lean is really large. this is a pretty difficult move to make.
arata notes here not only is haechan’s body moving, the hair/head also has a slight swaying groove. it resembles how taeyong often follows the beat. just before his dance is sharp, clear cut, then switches to this kind of rhythm. it changes slightly the texture of the choreo.
at “hey” he expresses “this is haechan’s part” - lifting to tiptoes and raising one’s hand. the lights converge here, reflecting his face well. haechan’s expression of this upwards feeling is very good, especially with how he uses his feet. he makes a beautiful figure (like “人”)
this is his specialty, this slide walk. slide walks are very hard, even more difficult with sneakers. he also does this in kick it during his solo. as it’s his solo, it’s like he wants to express “this is the one”. and since he’s adept at dancing ofc he uses his best move.
arata thinks hc does this backwards lean beautifully, and complements others’ movements. from the mirror u can see the adidas stripes making a nice line. he uses his abdominal/leg muscles for support, while fixing his face in a pretty position.
basically haechan always looks beautiful while dancing. arata thinks he’s someone who cares a lot about shape while dancing, considering how to visualize movement and making one’s figure look good. even his hand movements are pretty, and fingers too. he’s really a dance expert.
here he swings his arm back and forth. to stand out one has to use a lot of strength, like a punch. to continuously maintain this kind of force is really amazing. as he swings his lower body moves at the same time, pushing his body down and intensifying this move’s dynamism.
arata praises haechan’s use of his knees to keep the beat. he’s never off beat, not even a little fast. his knees follow a hiphop rhythm as they move down (not just a squat). this is very tiring+he must be conscious of it to do this, meaning he’s very strict with his dancing
finally, arata praises haechan’s sense in choosing his hand movement at the end. whereas mk/ty uses a lot of strength, hc is very soft with his hands, starting from his arm. in this rather tense moment, to be rather light-hearted, leaving behind a soft, gentle moment.
hc’s ability to carry out so many cb’s is bc of his strong technique/ability to absorb quickly. he understands how to look cool/draw ppl’s attention. perhaps he’s not satisfied w just being a main vocal and so continuously study dance. his dance is awesome, really too strong
- end. please note that this is just a summary. i really hope one day someone can translate the entire video, as he goes into great detail and it’s really nice to hear from an expert on haechan’s technique
