People are really trying to argue that Mike Trout is already a Hall of Famer, here’s a thread of why he isn’t:
according to the BBWAA election rules, you need at least 10 consecutive years of mlb service time, according to mike trout’s wikipedia page, this would have been his ninth season
according to the rules, a player needs to be out of baseball for 5 years to be considered on the ballot, trout has not been retired for 5 years
i actually didn’t read this rule because there are too many words but the BBWAA has not voted mike trout into the hall of fame yet with at least 75% of the votes, therefore, he isn’t in the hall of fame
to make the hall of fame vote official, you need to be awarded it at the cooperstown place and mike trout has not been honored at any hall of fame event in cooperstown before
a very educated individual just informed me that active players cannot be in the hall of fame, and after extensive research, i have found out that fish boy is an active player
