I’ve been pretty quiet on social media regarding recent pivotal moments in society, but lemme just say:
1. Black lives matter.
2. Wearing a mask is not an “attack on your freedom”.
3. Believe and support those who are brave enough to speak out against their abusers.
As a white person, I’ll never know or understand the fear that POC live through every day in response to law enforcement. But I will do everything I can to support the fight for racial equality.
Just because the curve has “flattened” in some areas doesn’t mean COVID is gone. People are still dying. Wearing a mask for 10 minutes inside the grocery store is to protect others, not yourself. The world is not “back to normal” yet just because you want it to be.
Being a female in the gaming community automatically comes with a certain level of sexism. I’ve been lucky enough to only have dealt with a couple of bad apples, and those situations were resolved pretty quickly. Others aren’t so lucky, and some don’t even realize (c)
They’re being abused until it’s too late. So when someone speaks up about a bad situation (male, female, non-binary) dont immediately shut them down or victim blame. Support them. Be there for them. Give them props for having the strength to speak up at all.
With all this being said, I’m not a licensed therapist nor do I have a lot of experience in providing advice for *any* of the topics in this thread. But my DMs are open. If you have something you want to get off your chest, I’ll listen.
