8:05PM - The march is prepping to leave, they are working their way through Cal Anderson park collecting additional marchers.

8:15PM - After walking through the CHOP ZONE the group has tripled in size, and is now off to the West Precinct for the 7th night in the world.

8:25PM - The protesters have entered the downtown section. Chanting, "SAY HIS NAME" and "WHOSE STREETS? OUR STREETS!"

The bike brigade is back in action tonight, clearing the intersections ahead of the arriving protesters.

8:33PM - Per traffic cams @SDOTtraffic and @SeattlePD have closed the section of I-5 that goes through downtown, holding cars at the 520 to the North and the 90 to the south.

8:38PM - The marching group has arrived at the West Precinct. "Why are we here? BLACK LIVES MATTER!" The group has moved the barricades to the side and has approached the front doors.

8:44PM - As the group passes around the bullhorn telling their stories, many of the comments are directed at the cops who are visible inside the glass doors.

8:58PM - Speeches have finished for the evening and the group is now proceeding to the I-5 for the 7th night in a row.

For those of you keeping score at home the I-5 freeway runs from Canada to Mexico through Washington, Oregon, and California. This marks the 7th night in a row protesters in Seattle have shut it part of it down.

Local news hasn't covered it, national news continues to simplify and mis-categorize what's happening, and even the local and state departments of transportation are trying to under play the effects of these marches by continuing to refer the closures as "incidents."

9:46PM - It appears some of the people watching from the bridge over the freeway are moving down the on ramp to join the protesters to giant rounds of applause.

9:52PM - The occupation protests of the I-5 continues. The speakers are now focused getting white allies to educate their friends and family about the movement. "This is how the tidal wave begins."

10:02PM - After almost an hour, the local news (KOMO) has decided this is worth their attention. It's about time.

The group has exited the I-5 through exit 166 on the Northbound side.

10:15PM - The marchers are headed back to the CHOP. We're hearing rumors indicating that shots may have been fired at or nearby the CHOP ZONE within the last 10 minutes. Nothing is confirmed yet.

10:23PM - Reports of shots appear to be confirmed by multiple sources on the ground. No current reports of any victims, but details continue to be very sketchy and unclear.

10:40PM - Several more shots fired in the CHOP ZONE area.

10:42PM - Calls for medics can heard on some of the cameras in the area. Unclear yet if anyone has been hurt.

10:50PM - Details are still unclear and there appears to be a bunch of confusion in the area. It appears that 1 person has been taken to the hospital.

11:53PM - We're hearing fireworks now in the area of the CHOP ZONE. Over an hour after multiple shooting incidents, there has been no police response in the area. No visible presence from @SeattlePD at all.

Things seem to be calming down inside the CHOP ZONE. It appears that 2 separate rounds of gunfire and one person shot is not enough reason for @SeattlePD to show up. Good to know that @carmenbest was serious when she said that they weren't ignoring calls in the neighborhood.

And with that, we're muting this thread. A large number of you are particularly unclear on what this protest is about, and that there was no effort to create an autonomous zone.
