Understand there is nothing that @IlhanMN says that a 9th-generation American humanities-professor at Yale wouldn’t say. https://twitter.com/ndrew_lawrence/status/1148761751414087680
So what Tucker is complaining about is really why American liberal elites have been more effective at assimilating immigrants according to their own values. For that, I’d say he should mainly blame the decline of American conservatives’ intellectual rigor in recent decades. https://twitter.com/IlhanMN/status/1143168166190866433
Tucker doesn’t want an intellectual competition for who can assimilate the future citizens better. He knows his team has been losing. He lacks imagination to formulate how his team could be more influential in a growing culture. He wants no competition at all.
Amy Wax, who is a much smarter conservative than Tucker, gets the root of the problem. But also she fails to grasp that defunding America’s elite liberal arts institutions is not a complete answer by itself to create an alternative for cultural influence.
Roya is a product of an era that America’s mainstream elite liberal arts institutions encouraged American patriotism as a form of high moral status. If conservatives want to boost their influence on culture, they need to promote Roya’s story, for example. https://twitter.com/royathewriter/status/1274384169167183872
Roya is the most persuasive voice to critique Ilhan. Instead, Trump's answer has been to ban folks from where Roya is coming from. https://twitter.com/RoyaTheWriter/status/1112307496021118976
