So today I had an encounter with some neo-nazis while doing field work and with the fact that my life could have been in danger, I felt it was necessary to get this message across to all the non-black PIs and STEM leaders who might see this #blackinivory #BlackinGeoscience

I made a video documenting what happened, but the take home message is simple: have a PLAN if you're bringing black students to potentially dangerous areas for them. This is SERIOUS and it is REAL. Also, it gives us peace of mind to know who has our back and what the plan is.
