Something I truly dislike about the terves (and fandom antis who borrow from them and how that's leaked into discourse generally) is the concept of "you're only disagreeing because you want to do/be Horrible Thing X for real" and "my stance is safe, better safe than sorry" 1/???
And I get that I'm a hypocrite because I've *been* like this with a couple "safety stances" and you can probably think of the ones. It's *because* this is so deeply buried within me, myself, from that, that I find it very difficult to get around and this thread is to try 2/?
Reasons you might disagree with what seems like a Good Moral Stance, 1 (and the most important): your own lived experience says otherwise, the person with that stance is operating off theory alone, and you *are not* operating in false consciousness
