3/3 My third tenure related to Ladakh was as as Northern Army Commander 2007-2008 for 14 months. We conducted a Corps level exercise for offensive in high altitude. Visited all areas from Karakoram Pass to Chumar once again. Total 5 years of dealing with Ladakh out of my 40 yrs.

I am an Infantry officer and fought 1971 War in Banladesh. Transferred to Mechanised Infantry - also Infantry - after 13 years service. Details of Ladakh experience posted for information of my friends.
