NYC feels like NYC again. Our neighborhood is brimming w/ Puerto Rican families out & about. The vibe just before the pandemic was rude European tourists (I’m talking ppl who won’t even SEE you as they walk past!) & rich yuppies with strollers — they’ve all left for the hills.

Feels great. All the corny normcore restaurants opened for these transplants are shutdown. There’s no space for that insufferable money-obsessed millennial who only cares about their own family’s well-being.

It’s wild to realize I’m the same age as all these raggedy Karens—something happens when you’re obsessed with meaningless things like wealth, power, status and obsessed with uncontrollable things like aging, happiness and safety — you lose touch with what is true and what matters
