I’ve been made aware of disturbing behavior that a current member of my band and past touring crew have engaged in. As of today, that band member is no longer a part of the Hoodie Allen touring crew and those past touring members will never tour with me again.

I don’t want there to be any moral grey area on where I stand on this. If you guys can’t feel safe coming to a show, there is no show. I apologize for not taking action sooner. I should’ve been more responsible and been aware of my role as the leader of this touring crew.

The claim that I have used my closeness with fans to prey on underage girls is wildly disgusting. It’s a complete mischaracterization of the community I have built. I want to be clear, I haven't sent/solicited nudes to or from a minor, nor have I ever pursued anyone underage.

My interaction with fans is the most validating part of this job for me and I’ve tried to create a space that doesn’t separate me as the artist from you as the fan. I’ve always DMed fans and engaged in genuine conversation; it’s never been intended as a tool to manipulate anyone.

A lot of fans became friends, which led to countless group chats, quiplash hangs, and weekly poker games, but what I have neglected to recognize and acknowledge is that a power dynamic is involved in those friendships. The inherent roles of artist/fan do not dissipate.

I am sorry for any time I have neglected your feelings or put you in a position where you felt that disagreeing with me on any topic could jeopardize that friendship. I am still an artist you have looked up to and need to recognize the weight that platform carries.

I am ultimately responsible for anything and everything that happens on tour, I’ve always felt that way. This is the world that I’ve created and invited you into, and it is of the utmost importance for you to feel safe.

I should have taken more responsibility for making sure the rest of my crew and the overall culture of our touring lives reflected my commitment to making each night on the road a safe place for fans.

I will not turn a blind eye to the people around me and will continue to hold myself to an even higher personal standard moving forward. I will make sure you can have a safe place to enjoy music. That is my greatest care and responsibility.
