why you should no longer support hollyoaks thread

i think it's really insincere to sit there and say that you support rachel and yet continue to watch a show that pretends to cater to diverse audience but doesn't cater to the cast allowing them to tell these storylines.

rachel literally exposed hollyoaks and its systemic racism in that numerous black females were made to change their hair for clearly racist reasons. hollyoaks also had a makeup artist employed who upheld a racist attitude and it shows to me that they clearly don't care about it.

now before you say that there's a whole cast and crew who aren't racist, there are plenty of others ways to support them without actually watching hollyoaks which functions with a backdrop of racism behind it. to make hollyoaks stan accounts when hollyoaks is racist...yikes.

in order to be actively anti racist the least you can do is watch a show where some members of the crew and cast are not punished for their racist words or attitudes, the fact that people HAD to change their hair shows it's a huge issue because it's the whole system

that's not even mentioning the whole lynsette mess. she obviously values money over treating people with human decency and not being racist. hollyoaks has dealt with this abysmally and i'm glad that rachel has left that environment because she and so many others deserve better.

i hope julietquinns reads this thread and actually pays attention it and takes action. this is a serious issue so i hope she doesn't derail it with an immature "pee pee poo poo" response because it deserves to be talked about and it's not a personal attack. do better!
