A doctor told me today that object permanence plays a big part into ADHD, and absolutely affects you when you become an adult. I was resistant to the idea, and she just started calling me out.
“Do you put vegetables in the bottom drawer and always forget about them?”
“Do you organize where you can see everything, otherwise you will forget the things you put away exist?”
“Do you think friends stop caring when you haven’t heard from them?”

“Do you think friends stop caring when you haven’t heard from them?”
“Do you feel numb at funerals because the idea of the person being gone doesn’t fully register?”
Just one after another, all dead on target. There is so much I don’t know about myself and how I function and it scares the hell out of me.

Side note: I wish all doctors were as confident and bold as this one. She was so invested, so quick to dismiss fallacies I had built up, and so willing to confront me while still REALLY listening to me. I am incredibly lucky to have been connected with her.
So many of you mention keys

It’s the only way I don’t loose them or don’t forget them.

Also, a LOT of you have asked for my doctor& #39;s info. She has zero social media presence, so I just want to make sure it is okay to share it with so many before I put it out there. I will follow up in our next meeting.
Also also, a bunch of you have DMed me and I will get to you as soon as I can—this is a low spoon week for me, but I see you and ty for reaching out. All my love.
