Since she’s lying about what happened in the NL today:
•Hooligans were planning on rioting & fighting the police
•They refused to wear masks & keep 1.5m distance
•Too many people were expected to show up
•They showed up anyway & began to riot
•And indeed fought the police https://twitter.com/lonnekeengel/status/1274702329221185536
@LonnekeEngel it’s extremely problematic that you are giving your 16k followers a misconstrued version of the story, ESPECIALLY when most resources & information about what actually happened are in Dutch. There was NOT a double standard & they did NOT come to peacefully protest.
The BLM protest, on the other hand, was permitted if - and ONLY if - we adhered to the rules — and we did. Everyone kept 1.5m distance, wore medical masks (many even wore gloves), no one provoked the police but followers their orders, and nobody used any violence.
Comparing a protest that got cancelled by the multiplicity bc football hooligans were gonna show up with the intention to fight with police & to not adhere to the anti-corona measures, to the BLM protest and call it “a double standard” is, frankly, offensive.
You can NOT compare them and call it a double standard. They were held to the SAME standards, and the protest that was planned for today simply DID NOT MEET THEM: 1.5m distance, masks, no threat to public safety/health, and a max nr of people.
BLM/KOZP protestors are already painted as “thugs”, “aggressive”, “violent” & “threatening” in NL. By comparing us to ACTUALLY VIOLENT hooligans who DID NOT meet the requirements to legally protest rn, reinforces this narrative. This is irresponsible with such a large following.
@LonnekeEngel, do better. By all means, speak up if you think the force used by police was excessive/their right to protest was violated.

But don’t compare it to BLM/KOZP or speak of a double standard. It’s not the same situation & not an honest depiction of what happened.
I absolutely support using your platform to speak up about injustice, and clearly you see what happened as an injustice to our people. While I may (largely) disagree with you, I believe you have the right to shed light on what you think is wrong. But be truthful in what you say.
