Mano’s Review/Rant of The Last of Us Part 2 (A Thread)

*** SPOILERS AHEAD ***

First off, you may ask why I spent $60 for this game. I loved the first TLOU, and is a Top 3 game all time for me. I loved the characters and story and was excited to see what was in store for the sequel. Even after seeing leaks, I still wanted to give it a chance.

Okay, now I’d like to say JOEL IS NOT FCKING STUPID. How DARE they write him like he’s 80 years old with DEMENTIA. He falls into a TRAP and Tommy and him reveal themselves by saying their names to STRANGERS. Tyler1 gives my exact thought here:

So yeah right off the bat, mackdaddy Joel dies. This girl named Abby and her group pretend they’re Tiger Woods and use his head as a golf ball. And now Ellie is off for revenge OOOOOOO. Her girlfriend Dina is with us too and she’s actually cool.

So we play as Ellie for idk how many hours and basically kill most of Abby’s friends, which was satisfying ngl. Then Asian homeboy Jesse comes along too and we find out Dina’s pregnant with his kid. Which is cool since they’re not together anymore.

We also run into Tommy who was on his own revenge tour as well. Then all of a fcking sudden Abby shows up at Ellie’s hideout and SHOOTS JESSE IN THE FACE. She’s all like boohoo wah wah you killed my friends and then we PLAY AS ABBY for the next 50 HOURS recalling her last 3 days

At this point I wasn’t liking Abby. Like awwww you’re mad that Joel killed your surgeon father after Marlene denied him the right to talk to Ellie before they removed her fcking brain in the first game? Joel did nothing wrong. More like a dub for him screw humanity

So yeah we play as Abby and find these two Asians who were part of the enemy group but they’re reformed now and they save our lives. But basically all of her friends end up dying because of Ellie and Tommy and we’re left with the younger Asian kid named Lev. Rest in piss.

So Abby and Lev find Ellie’s hideout and we’re back to the present. The game then forces ME to play as ABBY and fight ELLIE. I’m forced to BREAK her arm and PUMMEL her face in with Abby’s MEATY ASS ARMS. Then she almost caves in a pregnant Dina’s face in but Lev says stop. Cool.

Then there’s a timeskip, Ellie and Dina take care of the baby and are living life. But Ellie still has PTSD from witnessing Joel get Tiger Woods’d. So she goes out on another trek to Santa Barbara to finish Abby off. She going on her 2016 LeBron shit ngl.

But then they pull some shit and make me play as Abby for one last time, but she ends up getting kidnapped by some random ass slave traders ???? Huh???? Anyways I wasn’t complaining.

So now as Ellie we find these slave traders and fcking massacre them. She dropping Wilt Chamberlain numbers fam. Anyways we find Abby and Lev and they look like shit. They’ve been slaves for like two months and Abby ain’t as muscular anymore. This is our chance Ellie...

We fight, and Ellie is kicking her ass. Finally, Joel will be avenged. Abby bites off Ellie’s two fingers off but we still have the upper hand.

But then as we’re drowning Abby, Ellie gets a mini flashback of Joel and she decides to LET HER LIVE??? WTF?

So Abby and Lev ride off on a boat and Ellie goes back home. But guess what? Dina and the baby aren’t there and she’s GONE. I was like “mf don’t tell me she left Ellie after all this!” But I think she just went back to Jackson, hopefully. Dina is still cool.

So Ellie tries to play guitar with her mangled ass hand and it’s still good. We have a flashback of Joel and Ellie the day before that mf got killed and Ellie was willing to try and forgive Joel for killing those fireflies in the first game. Then Ellie rides off to find Dina.

The End.

This game felt hella long, it felt like I played as Abby for most of the damn game. My favorite parts were uhhh the flashbacks with JOEL. I needed more JOEL. Anyways the first game was obviously better. The story in this one was meh for me. No impact like the 1st one.

I could tell this game was trying to give a message, “never ending cycle of violence” something like that. I honestly would’ve enjoyed the game more if Abby and her friends had a seperate story arc and never connected to Joel and Ellie’s story. But Druckman sucks.

Oh and there was SO MUCH FLASE MARKETING for this game. They made it seem like Joel was in the game for most of it but that was a lie LMFAO. Funny ass Naughty Dog.
