I’m gonna say it, most “art teachers” online have no business calling themselves teachers.
If you use “teaching” art as a way to pull in views, I ask you to question if you truly are a good resource for the artists you are “teaching”, understand that most of the views you are pulling in are from very excited, eager, often beginner artists.
This is their introduction to art. Is what you teach really a great resource for them? Are there not hundreds of other resources that you can direct them towards, made by people with a much stronger fundamental understanding?
I cant count how many bad deviantart “how to draw ___” tutorials I learned from that taught me bad habits that took years to shake off, or that I am still trying to shake off. I didn’t know any better. My eyes couldn’t tell the difference between great reference material and bad.
There are a TON of resources out there. Youtube videos, books. It is just hard for someone starting out to know where to look. Are you teaching ur audience how to make things look “pretty”? Are u teaching them shortcuts? Is it for the views? 😫 It’s frustrating seeing this trend.
