Every now and then I run into someone asking about a rumour that I once lost my shit at a restaurant waiter and got them fired & I have to explain I once told Twitter the story of politely calling a food delivery place to replace a burger due to dietary restrictions they ignored.
It's kind of wild that you can trace back bullshit stories like that to a single post, or a specific person, and that such a story just kind of spreads from there outside of your view until at some point it has grown to the point where you hear it told as absolute truth.
I ain't upset about it. It's unfortunate and annoying and I wish I wouldn't be used as caricature of things people like or dislike? But I will admit it's so fascinating to see a story about yourself that is laughably untrue, but also see how it is 'true' as it spreads to others.
Anyway, now I'm just laughing again at the conspiracy guy that sincerely seemed to argue years ago that the persistent random checks I get at airports are a way for the CIA to send me updates on my mission to destroy the games industry from within while maintaining my cover.
