not sure if i need to tw this since it's informational... lmk if i do need to.
i really want to emphasise the importance of posture. depending on the angle of your head, the "load" your neck needs to support increases. this causes neck pain and spine curvature. +
another thing i want to point out is that when you have forward head posture, the extension weakens the muscles between your neck and chin. this is because they aren't being used. surround skin loses elasticity when the muscles aren't being used. +
this can cause the illusion of a double chin. it's not fat. it's basically untoned muscles. many posture exercises involve training yourself to use these muscles again. forward head posture - or as we say in korea, "turtle neck" - has become very common +
due to smartphone and computer use. i took the time to translate a korean diagram. posture affects us in more ways than you think. note: abdominal fat is, in this case, caused by poor posture as your core is not engaged. i want to stress that this is not a thread +
about dieting or saying "look! fat!". this is about engaging your core. when you have poor posture, you strain other parts of your body. core muscles help with posture which is why people with stronger core muscles tend to have better posture. +
i made this thread because eating disorders can weaken our body. having poor posture can make the pain worse. it's very easy to correct your posture. wouldn't you want to reduce pain that you can alleviate yourself with minimal effort? +
i hope this doesn't come across as offensive in any way. if it does, please let me know and i will gladly redo this thread to add necessary tw.
