*Thread* Warning - contains nudes.
Time and time again, I've seen women post pictures that show (shock, horror!) flesh, only to remove them due to negative reactions from both men and women.
Now listen.
Since early civilisation, the female form has been revered.
The body has long been seen as a beautiful thing. Not as a sexual object, but a work of art.
What's changed is only technology.
As soon as cameras were invented, the female form was captured on film as well as canvas.
My own mum posed for nudes. The photographer was my grandfather.
No, there wasn't any weirdness in their relationship.
I have done art nude photography shoots. It was liberating and empowering.
Now, we all have camera phones. Women take pictures of which they are proud.
They share them not for attention. Not for DMs. But because they like what they see and are proud of the woman they are.
Sure, people saying nice things is...nice. And I never slam anyone for
making a slightly cheeky comment.
But we aren't seeking overtly sexual comments. Nor insults about attention seeking.
We just think "That's a bloody good picture. I'm proud of that", so we share it. That's literally it.
And women everywhere should love their bodies.
Because whatever shape they are, they have always been and will always be a thing of beauty.
And you can be damn sure no-one stood in front of the Birth of Venus fapping themselves or wanting to shoot her down for showing off.
So, in essence, I'm saying, be the Venus that is you.
