Jaren Jackson, Jr. is one of the highest ceiling players in the NBA. A big reason for this is his quick release and how little a window he needs. Memphis' early O is extremely simple and it only works because of JJJ's insane range. They run guard plays for him.
Memphis' early O is simple, this is their core play. A pretty simple look where the point guard brings it up towards the elbow, a wing (Brooks here) comes off a screen and attacks downhill. They run this with or without JJJ but he's often the middle screener.
Here, the Knicks expect this early O screening action at the top and pre-rotate to the paint. Morant forces them through another tough screen and causes the rotation, JJJ punishes it with a quick release from the corner.
The Bulls play high here to prevent this action. Lauri is there to both stop the trailing three. Boylen appears to call for a rotation to stop this particular early O play. But here's the other side of JJJ- He's insanely mobile for his size and can drive to the hoop with ease.
The Suns pack the top of the paint to stop this early offensive action. Taylor Jenkins is one of the best in the NBA at installing 'wrinkles' into his O. Best summarised as a plan B when plan A is taken away. On this occasion, every MEM player screens for a deeep JJJ 3.
