Ripley, Buffy, and Sarah Connor all have one thing in common:

Men are willing to respect them because they reject their femininity. They don't "act" like "women". Not performing their gender earns respect.

Being seen as a woman is the root of misogyny, hence all homophobia.
Look no further than the "tough chick" trope and everything it implies to understand that female oppression occurs on the basis of being *seen* as the inferior *gender*, not *sex*.

This is how, and why, trans women can and do experiece the same misogyny as cis women.
The adoration and respect of men for these characters also hinges fundamentally on their willingness to use violence. To men, this confers male authority and power onto them. They are accepted into the "boys' club" of heroes for *performing* manliness.
If you take the blue pill, you can go back to believing misogyny is about ovaries & periods + that womens' existence is pain...

...or take the red pill...and realise misogyny has everything to do with the Male Gaze, and how you are *seen* by the oppressor, not *what* you *are*.
