aka the rugby boys at crossleys xx https://twitter.com/scharnagl_/status/1274476434619338752
i wasn’t calling anyone a rapist, i was referring more to the CULTURE and normalisation of certain language and behaviour i heard throughout my time at school
i’m not saying you’re all bad people, i liked and got on with boys from the team. but a culture of misogyny and sexualisation of girls was a constant at school, that is my experience and others i’ve spoken to about it
..rather than getting immediately defensive, perhaps sit down and ask yourself how you may have contributed to the normalisation of this culture in the past and what you can do to change ??
i just think at crossleys, particularly in the rugby team, there was this toxic lad culture. the rugby boys were always the top of the hierarchy and could use their power to humiliate, exclude etc. i’m not even saying it was easy for said boys, it was toxic for everyone.
i do not NEED to give examples to prove or justify myself. you all know exactly what i’m talking about.
